| According to the U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission (USCC), nearly 90 percent of copyrighted products sold in China are pirated, making it the top copyright intellectual property infringer worldwide. The report claims that China's continued recalcitrance is causing material injury to U.S. companies, workers and communities, and it is contributing to a highly skewed bilateral economic relationship marked by a soaring U.S. trade deficit and a weakening competitive position for many U.S. firms. Additionally, the commission concludes that the trends in the U.S.-China relationship have negative implications for the long-term economic and security interests of the United States.
